Labour Day = White Day

Ok so the title isn't really true they aren't the same thing but today in South Korea is White Day. What is white day you ask? It's basically a day for couples, I know what you're thinking wasn't there one exactly 1 month ago?...yes there was and it's called valentines day.
Anyways white day is the day where girls give their 'lovers' candy or chocolate, and in return the man is suppose to give something more expensive lol, well I got that off wikipedia so the specifics are a little hazy to me. 

However I did receive candy from my roommate and one of my guy friends whose single so he gave candy to his close friends (yay I was one of them =P) I got to indulge in this candy with some of my friends as we worked on our bathroom project. :) Candy is best eaten with friends!!

I also found out today, pizza is best delivered on the 10th floor of my uni building!! Yes the guy got off his motorbike came to the 10th floor by lift, knocked on our studio room and delivered our pizza!! my friend took some photos so I'll post them on here soon. The pizza was some weird combination of bacon, potato, brocolli, parmesan cheese and a few other things I couldn't exactly recognize LOL, it was however quite nice, I think the delivery was more shocking than the pizza  tho =P

So working back from today, yesterday I didn't do too much but I did visit Youido Full Gospel church...

Yes they all went to one of the 6 services that day...Omgosh

Beautiful inside and the choir on the right were very nice to listen to.

The service I went to however didn't have translations on the headphones supplied to foreigners, so I sat there for half an hour thinking to myself it was very calming experience though. I ended up getting directed to another building where I met an Melbournian youth pastor named Karen, she was extremely nice and told me to join the foreigner service on Sunday at 11:00am. Why don't they have that kind of information on their website!? Ok so next Sunday I will go again and let you all know how that goes, still not sure whether to join this church or not, we'll see :)

The same day I also went back to home plus for another assignment of mine. This one ain't as weird as my bathroom project but it was a little embarrassing using my dslr to take photos of random food around the supermarket. I don't think I explained clearly how cool Home plus is. For those of you who don't know how Korean megamarts work, it's got like everything in there. I ate ramen inside the supermarket and tasted all sorts of food that were being cooked by some ladies. They pretty much had a little stove and took bags of frozen goods out and cooked them, you really could be full just eating those. AND you can go back for more haha ;)

It was hard to take a good shot of this because people kept on walking in front of me to eat it. It's grill pork strips, similar to bacon but thicker.

You want some tea? it was really nice but I am too poor to buy good tea should have drank more before I left...instant teh tarik all the way!! =P best drank in my dorms as I blog =D

So on the way to Youido I saw this park it's actually called youido park, anyways that was kinda unnecessary, but this park was huge, and there were bike paths with heaps of people on bikes, heaps of people lining up to rent bikes it was a very refreshing site to see...

So Saturday me and some of my friends went to our professors house for lunch. Why did I miss the morning of Saturday you ask? because I was out all Friday night with friends and got back at 6am, so I didn't really have a morning...that's Hongdae for ya =P

Anyways our professors italian, hopefully that explains why we went over to his house for lunch. mmmm he cooked us pasta, two kinds one was penne with fish eggs, the other was seafood pasta, both were extremely yummy and fresh! We spent the whole afternoon talking to him about his 5 years in Korea and about famous designers and design in general. His apartments is so stylish.

Also the roof is decorated with things that look like branches.

I'm not sure if these lightbulbs waste a lot of energy but there were very cool.

I forgot to mention on the way there we caught a cab for the first time. As there was 5 of us we had to split up, me and Eddy took a taxi from a nice guy who took us to the proper place, Atara, Nurit and David however ended up walking for gosh knows how long cos the taxi driver dropped them off at the suburb rather than the address...moral of the story, It pays to look Korean...haha jjk =P

Nurit ended up buying one of the white pretty headbands. good choice i say.

I shall try to update this thing more often because I keep forgetting things that I want to write and realise too late, so stay tuned and keep bugging me for more =P
