Procrastination = blogging

I have been procrastinating for a while now and I realised now would be a great time to blog ;P
So since Sunday I haven't done too much, homework, visiting awesome restaurants, attempting to be money conscious and trying to learn more Korean.
Oh and did I mention it was my friends birthday on Tuesday? Well it was just a small thing but my friends showed me this awesome pizza joint which is a contender for the best hang out spot I know here in Hongdae...they even let Atara and I play the guitar and drums :D

Like I said in the last blog I went to Youido again to attend the english service and I have don't yet have much opinion on it. I went with a friend named Kim Mingu, who's a part of CAM (which if I'm not mistaken stands for Christ's Ambassador Mission).
So it's a full gospel church so a few things are different, the main thing is that they believe in speaking in tongues. They had a Korean guest speaker who although hasn't preached for very long had a very inspirational story on the calling from God. He said that he has always wanted to do missionary work in a third world country and that he recently accepted the offer to work in full time mission work over in Nepal...he leaves in 6 months. I think the most inspiring thing is that it was his first time to preach in English, he said that he was so shocked when he was asked he said no, but that the leading pastor asked again saying, "I think you have a message you need to spread to others". So he explained he felt it was a calling from God. Then as he was speaking he had to stop mid sentence to get a glass of water and explain his throat was so dry and his hands keep shaking.

The worship was pretty good too, Some guy was playing a saxophone, very cool =P
I didn't really talk to the people though cos my friend wanted to introduce me to some of the CAM members, which is why I say I can't really say if I will stick around there. That and I don't actually know the normal pastor who is travelling in Singapore right now. Next week will be a pastor from Melbourne, she is currently the Youth pastor for the English service. It will be interesting to hear what she has to say :)

ANYWAYS lol, my friend and I ended up going back to Hongdae to have lunch.

He took me to this Japanese place to eat Buddae jiggae (Ham stew/soup...my fave food here actually).
Some of the decorations at the restaurant...sugoi!
Definitely liking the decorations in here! =D
My friend Kim Mingu, man he is really funny, no wonder Yuri from Girls Generation (SNSD) is friends with him.
Lights underneath the fountain waterfall they had.........This is the ham stew/soup I was
talking about. It was pretty cool that they
hung the bowl from the hook thing. lol

Anyways after that I went back to the dorms to "study" ;) and had dinner with my Roommate, went to this place which was so cheap, free rice, free bottle of soft drink and a stew like this all which was awesome for 5000 won = less than $5.00!! *drools*

Ah yes I just found pictures of me doing my group work with my friends. See Ju this is proof that I am actually studying here and not partying all the time!! =D
My two friends Eun Kyeong (left) and Shinae (obviously right)
Yes we worked in a cafe/hospital/place where there are cats.
Apparently this place is quite well known, and they say the doctor is cute...that could be why it is so well known lol
They said the cheesecake was suppose to be the best thing here...it was um not like normal cheesecake would be the best way to put it. Notice how shiny it is? It's as shiny as the ceramic plate LOL, plain very hard cookie base, no hint of any flavour. Maybe if it had a hint of some randomly cool flavour...even lemon.
I've found my direction in life...cheesecake connoisseur!! =D lol
My friend may not be studying but notice how I am in deep thought!? ;D
Our finished market research board. like borat would say, "very nice"

So yes it was my friend Daniel's birthday on Tuesday and it was the Monday night that Nurit and Atara had the fabulous idea of surprising him by knocking on his door with a sparkler candle and croissants...? I had these awesome cheese muffins in my room which I suggested they use as the cake =P wow I am so brilliant and smart!!
Anyways it was very nice idea, and they pulled it off well, with the help of Eddy, David and I =D
David helped hold the plate lol

Lighting the sparkler, I think Nurit always knew this may be a mistake.
Daniel opening the door. oooo anticipation :D
Daniel: awww shuck, I'm so surprised. I think that I shouldn't bring that sparkler into my room...
Hugging Atara while he waits for the sparkler to finally go out lol
Eddy's birthday gift to Daniel: Warm wine with lemon and sugar.
It was pretty good. :)
Our mugs. Mine is the thermos lid :) I'm a savvy shopper what can I say? ;D
 Daniel's birthday present to himself...Salad :P
Eddy has all kinds of drinks in his dorm room. Like I said before, his roommate has a fridge lol.
The cool pizza joint we visited
Nurit's birthday present to Daniel...her smelly foot.
We didn't buy that hat for him...we found it at the restaurant...I wonder how hygienic that is? oh well, when in Korea right??
The really friendly cat was my present to Daniel...ok not really but I did capture this picture perfect moment... =)

Ok so the past two days haven't been that exciting, Tuesday and Wednesday I have many classes, BUT I will be going on a field trip on Friday till Saturday, so stay tuned, this next blog will be filled (hopefully) with magical pictures of traditional Korean things ;)
s Gari xoxo
Missing you all lots. <3
